How it works:

Clindamycin fights infections caused by susceptible bacteria. Clindamycin works by stopping the growth of bacteria.

Directions:

  • Antibiotics can cause diarrhea. If the diarrhea is watery or has blood in it, call your veterinarian. Do not use any medication to stop the diarrhea unless your veterinarian has told you to do so.
  • Clindamycin is a prescription antibiotic used in the treatment of serious infections such as soft tissue infections, dental infections, and bone infections.
  • Give this medication the entire length of time prescribed by your veterinarian. Symptoms may get better before the infection is fully treated.
Pets Weight Dosage
Dogs All weights Give 1 to 6 ml for each 10 lbs of pet's body weight every 12 hours
Cats All weights Give 1 to 3 ml for each 5 lbs of pet's body weight every 24 hours

Cautions:

Keep out of the reach of children and pets. Do not use in pets with known hypersensitivity to clindamycin or lincomycin. Do not take clindamycin at the same time as erythromycin. Use with caution if your animal is pregnant or nursing. Clindamycin can interact with other medications. Tell your veterinarian if your pet is on any other medications. Use with caution if your pet suffers from kidney disease, skin allergies, asthma, or colitis. Store at room temperature, protected from light and moisture.
