Ciprofloxacin is available by prescription only. All weights Always follow the dosage instructions provided by your veterinarian. The usual dose of ciprofloxacin for dogs and cats is 2.27-6.8 mg/lb every 12 hours.

Cautions

Keep out of the reach of children and pets. Do not use in any pet with a known allergy to ciprofloxacin or any other fluoroquinolones. Do not mix ciprofloxacin with any other drugs or medications. Do not administer ciprofloxacin to puppies 28 weeks and under. Inform your veterinarian of any and all medication your pet is taking, especially warfarin, theophylline, probenecid, insulin, or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Store at room temperature.

Side Effects

Allergic reactions and serious side effects are rare, but in the case of an allergic reaction or a serious side effect, seek veterinary attention. Some common signs of allergic reactions and serious side effects are hives, breathing difficulty, facial swelling, seizures, convulsions, swelling near joints, loss of appetite, dark urine, frequent urination, or yellowing of the skin or eyes.
