Rilexine treats many types of infections, including upper respiratory infections, skin infections, ear infections, urinary tract infections, and infections found in the bones and joints. It is a part of a broad-spectrum class of drugs called cephalosporin antibiotics. Cephalosporins fight bacterial infections all over the body. Rilexine inhibits the growth of bacteria’s cell wall. This antibiotic does not treat fungal infections, viral infections, or those infections caused by mites or parasites.

Dogs

Benefits:

  • Effectively treats pyoderma in dogs

  • Treats urinary tracts infections and bacterial infections of the skin

How it works:

Rilexine treats superficial bacterial pyoderma, a bacterial infection on the skin commonly found in dogs more so than cats. Symptoms include lesions, itchiness, and pus-filled swelling on the skin. In some cases, pyoderma can cause hair loss. Rilexine works by inhibiting the nucleopeptide synthesis of the bacterial wall, thus leading to the destruction of bacteria.
